My activities: both in school as well as outside of school.

I have been a member of IIE at New Mexico State Univeristy Since August of 2012.  I am currently the Engineering Council representative for IIE, which means I speak with the senetors and vote on topics that effect not only engineers, but the entire student body of NMSU.  I aim to someday be elected president of this great organization.

I am currently a member of the Society of Women Engineers and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.  I am able to participate in many exiting activies because of being a part of these organizations succh as an Expanding your Horizons seminar, where we encourage elementary school children to become a part of the science, engineering, technology and mathematics field.

I love all things design.  Furniture, cars, tableware, tables, clothing, houses, gardens, basically everything that can be designed and can be designed differently, I like.  Some designs or additions to designs are superfluous or just not needed.  I appreciate the good, the different, imaginative, and fun.  I have made and designed some furniture, all out of wood, but I am interested in working with all materials possible.

I fell in love with the show Firefly and loved the mix of new technology with old world style.  I had no idea there was an actual name for it, or that a whole subculture had been created.  I embraced this culture and, as you can see from the pictures above, love designing and dressing up in Steampunk costumes.  I've even been to the Steampunk Worlds Fair, where there were the most inventive costumes imaginable!
