Ms. Anita Martinez is a student in the Department of Industrial Engineering. I have known Ms. Martinez for about eight months as a student, researcher, and leader. Anita is not just an exceptional and competent student and a very good collaborator, but also an excellent leader managing academic activities. In this regard, she participated as a leader of an engineering and art team managing efficiently manufacturing and design efforts that met the requirements of a project assigned in IE152 Introduction to Industrial Engineering.
She has also participated in the NMSU PACE Team which collaborates with universities around the world such as Brazil and Polytechnic Institute of Mexico. Anita and the members of the team are working on the design and manufacturing of a mobile device that will benefit students and faculty in various campuses. Her dedication, disponibility, positive attitude combined with enthusiasm, and knowledge has motivated her peers achieving their goals not only of the project but also the goals of the Department.
